After a showbiz hiatus, Maine Mendoza is once again gracing the television screens, particularly the longtime-running noontime variety show “Eat Bulaga.”
In one of the recent episodes of the “Juan for All, All for Juan” segment, the Phenomenal Star was with Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, and Paolo Ballesteros.
They visited a 91-year-old woman who revealed that she would no longer be able to watch shows. Initially, she did not want to share the details but the hosts assured her that it wouldn’t be an issue for them.
The elderly woman said that one of her children got drunk. As a result, he slammed their television set on the floor. The elderly woman believed that he must’ve been angry at her that time.
When the hosts found this out, they immediately asked for his whereabouts. She replied that he’s in San Roque, where he serves in the church.
According to her, he already lives in a different residence.
Jose asked her if the incident was recent or not. The elderly woman answered that it must’ve happened about a week ago. “So meron kayong TV ngayon?” Jose asked.
“Wala po,” she replied. “Black and white pa ‘yon.”
She added that their television set got broken twice already.
This angered the hosts, who said that she shouldn’t let her children treat her in such a manner. Jose declared, “Ang tawag dun ay panlalapastangan sa magulang.”
After a while, Tito Sotto brought the topic into question again – whether she has a television set or not. The elderly woman said that she doesn’t own one.
Sotto immediately quipped that Maine Mendoza will buy her a new television set.
At first, the hosts laughed but the Phenomenal Star said that she will definitely buy a new one for the elderly woman. “Sasagutin ko TV ni nanay,” she said with conviction.
This impressed the hosts, including Sotto.
