BABY NAHULOG SA SWIMMING POOL NGUNIT HINDI ITO TINULUNGAN

Parents are tasked with teaching their children to be independent. After all, a child needs to be able to function in society on their own. But can a child be considered too young to be taught independence? A mother named Keri Morrison recently received backlash after a viral video showed her letting her young daughter fall into a pool.

The clip in question showed Keri Morrison’s 6-month-old baby, Josie, falling face first into the water. Unexpectedly, Keri didn’t panic when Josie fell into the water. She let Josie figure out how to float and navigate in the water.

While many comments applauded Keri’s brave swimming lesson, the act received some criticism from some overprotective parents. Nonetheless, the proud mother simply let the results speak for themselves. The adorable Josie was able to flip over and keep her head above the water. Keri then said regarding the video: “To me, when I look at that video, I see nothing but amazing. Here is a six-month-old sitting on the steps, falls in, does exactly what she is supposed to do.“

It turns out that a tragic backstory motivated the mother to teach Josie how to swim at a very young age. They lost their two-year-old son Jake when he fell into a intra-coastal waterway. Apart from losing her beloved son, one thing that won’t escape Keri’s mind was Jake’s helplessness during the accident.

“One of the things I really struggle with is that my son fell in the water not knowing what to do. And that thought and vision fires me up to make sure that not just my children but children all over are safe and can do this in the water.”
